Morning glories open with the morning sun and close at dusk. Although the flowers typically last only one day, their abundance and beauty have made them a favorite for centuries.
Sow your morning glory seeds 6 to 8 weeks before the last spring frost at a depth of ¼ inch in damp soil. Germination should occur within 7 to 10 days. Once all risk of frost has passed, transplant them outdoors.
Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged in full sun exposure. The vines will grow rapidly and need substantial support, such as a fence, or they will extend endlessly until they find something to climb.
