Garlic chives can be planted in a pot.
It adapts well to most soil types but prefers a moist, well-drained soil exposed to full sun, although it can also adapt to partial shade. It is a perennial and spreads vigorously from year to year.
Once well-established, it can be divided to create new plantings. Its thin flat leaves have a sweet garlic flavor.
Seeding can be started indoors or directly in the garden. Plant them at a depth of 1/4'' and at a distance of 18''. Germination normally occurs within 15 days. It is advisable not to harvest it in the first year to let it establish itself, otherwise, you can harvest it at any time by cutting it 1/2'' above the surface of the soil.
The leaves can be stored fresh in the refrigerator for 1 week or frozen. It is best not to dry them as they lose their flavor.
