This is one of the favorite Brussels Sprouts varieties. It is the most common and widely used for home gardens. The plant can reach up to 24 inches in height and produce a large quantity of small, tight, and tender sprouts with a diameter of about 1 ½ inches.
Plant them directly in the garden at the end of May/early June, at a depth of ½ inch, and wait until the plants reach a height of 6 inches before thinning them out. The removed plants can be transplanted at a distance of 2 feet apart. It may be necessary to provide support if winds threaten to break the stem.
Approximately 4 months after planting, the first sprouts will be ready for harvest. The plant tolerates frost well, but to continue harvesting over a longer period, hang the entire plant upside down in a dry place, and the heads will continue to mature for some time.
It is best to harvest Brussels sprouts in the fall as the frost brings out their best flavor.
