Tendergreen is excellent for canning and freezing. This stringless bean, approximately 6 inches long, is also delicious when consumed raw.
Directly sow your green bean seeds in a rich, well-drained soil in full sun at least one week after the last frost. Plant them 1 inch deep and 6 inches apart. Germination should occur within 10 days of planting.
Keep the soil moist by mulching around the base of the plants and water them at least once a week. Your first beans should appear approximately 10 weeks after germination. Beans taste best and are most tender when they are no larger than a pencil. Daily harvesting will improve plant productivity.
