This green onion is a bulbless variety that produces delicate-tasting stalks. They are the most cold-resistant and can even withstand light frost. It is a slow-bolting variety and resistant to infestations.
Most onions take a few months to mature when started from seeds. Therefore, it's best to start the seeds indoors at a depth of 1/4 inch, 2 or 3 months before the last expected frost. When the soil is malleable enough, plant them in the garden 3 inches apart in light, rich soil in full sun. Mulch your onions to control weeds as onions struggle against them.
Green onions can be harvested at any time after 60 days, and the longer you wait, the more pronounced the flavor will be.
