The Hungarian Sweet Wax pepper plant grows well in pots.
Hungarian Sweet Wax peppers grow on plants that can reach a height of 24 inches. Changing from yellow to red as they ripen, Hungarian peppers offer a high yield and have a delicate taste. They are excellent when consumed fresh, stuffed, or dried.
Eight weeks before the last expected frost, sow your seeds indoors at a depth of 1/4 inch and maintain the room temperature at 25–30 °C (60–65°F). Provide them with supplemental light to prevent the plants from becoming leggy. When all danger of frost has passed, acclimate your plants for a few days and plant them in the garden at a distance of 12 to 16 inches from each other. Pepper plants appreciate rich, moist, and weed-free soil; provide them with mulch to help with better control.
Normally, peppers have a sweeter flavor if they ripen longer on the plant. However, fully ripe peppers signal the plant to stop its production. Harvest them while green to ensure a longer vegetable production.
