This plant is a friend to bees and butterflies.
This easy-to-grow annual produces scarlet red/purple flowers. They bloom abundantly and look best when densely planted. The 5-petaled flowers only last a few days, but they go unnoticed as others proliferate.
Scarlet Flax plants do not transplant well, so it's better to sow directly in the garden after all risk of frost has passed. Sow them just below the soil surface at about 1/8’’ depth.
These plants tolerate drought well and appreciate light, sandy soil.
